Giveaway Post Organically Reached the Top of Multiple Popular Hashtags on Instagram

Shoji Spa & Retreat Spa Giveaway Campaign
Project Overview:
Shoji Spa is a Japanese-themed spa in Asheville’s Blue Ridge Mountains which features idyllic imagery that is perfect for Instagram marketing campaigns. We asked Shoji to offer a prize so that we could run a giveaway on their Instagram profile, encouraging users to follow their page, like the post and tag a friend in the comments. The post was constructed using best practices to ensure that it did not violate Instagram’s terms of service – an important step to prevent the platform from restricting its reach.
Not only does this increase Shoji’s follower count, but it manipulates Instagram’s algorithm into showing the post to a wider audience, boosting it’s organic reach. As a result, our week-long giveaway campaign garnered nearly 2,000 likes, over 2,800 comments, and increased their follower count by 9.5%. The post’s reach was so wide, that it reached the top of popular hashtags with millions of mentions worldwide, including #spaday, #hottub, and a smaller but local hashtag – #ashevillenc. All of this was achieved organically without paying Facebook/Instagram any money in advertising.
